About Lang Holding:

 

I began my professional career as a custom home builder in the Charlotte, NC area during the 1980s and was introduced to the world of independent insurance adjusting in 1995. Drawn by the financial opportunities it offered, I shifted my focus to adjusting and joined RJMW Claims Services, where I quickly advanced to the role of lead CAT adjuster. After nearly a decade in the field, I reached a point of burnout in 2004 and decided to return to my roots in construction, founding Caromark Building Group, LLC in the mid-2000s. During this time, I continued to build my construction business while also handling local claims for RJMW. Under my leadership, Caromark grew into an unlimited licensed general contracting firm, building both custom and entry-level homes as well as commercial upfits.

 

When severe hailstorms struck Charlotte in 2009, 2010, and 2011, I launched a division of my company called Caromark Roofing & Exteriors and I brought in an old partner to help with the overwhelming abundance of business. Between just the two of us, CRE grew rapidly, reaching $4.3 million in revenue by 2011. In 2013, I sold Caromark and reentered the field of insurance adjusting, handling hundreds of hail claims in the Washington, DC area through the end of 2016. After that deployment, I founded J.L. Holding Estimating Services, which later evolved into Claim Masters USA, to provide detailed supplemental estimates for insurance restoration contractors nationwide all the while, keeping my finger on the pulse of the construction industry.

With over 12 years of experience as an adjuster and more than 25 years as a general contractor—including four years dedicated to insurance restoration work—I developed a deep understanding of both sides of the claims process. Claim Masters USA helped contractors manage the complex task of compiling restoration estimates and supplements for their clients.

Following a recent split from a company I co-founded in 2020, I established 34 North Builders, LLC to refocus exclusively on quality construction projects. Today, as the sole owner of 34 North Builders, I am dedicated to building both large custom homes and smaller entry-level houses, as well as taking on select residential and commercial renovation projects. With full autonomy, I am committed to guiding the company toward delivering quality, affordable construction that benefits both our clients and our community.
